Wait List Opening June 5-9 for Housing Choice Vouchers from Home Forward

For the first time in nearly 7 years, the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Wait List  will open at 9am on Monday, June 5, 2023. Home Forward has created a webinar for housing partners to learn more about the Housing Choice Voucher program, how people can apply, who may be eligible, and how the community can help spread the word. In addition, Home Forward is sharing a toolkit created for partners to help spread the word. 

A few more notes about the voucher wait list:

• The Housing Choice Voucher Program wait list application will open on Monday, June 5 at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Friday, June 9 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific time). 
• People age 18 and older with incomes at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Multnomah County who have at least one household member that meets certain citizenship requirements can apply for the wait list.
• Names will be selected at random from the application pool. There will be 2,000 applicants selected.
• Any applicant who applies for the wait list between June 5 and 9 will be entered into the lottery (not first-come, first-served).
