Multifamily NW Guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Multifamily NW Members,

As communities across the nation and world continue to monitor the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), multi-unit housing providers can share best practices that will help prevent the spread of all contagious disease. We encourage members to consult the expert information available from the centers for disease control and other leading public health organizations to determine the best course of action for your communities and support tenants’ health and safety.

As always, we are ready to work with local authorities and agencies to monitor this disease and update our plan of action as necessary. Currently, Multifamily NW is directing members toward the following resources to take appropriate steps in your communities. These sites will be updated frequently with pertinent information:

We encourage our members to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of recommendations from authorities in order to make the best decisions for the multifamily housing communities they serve. Everyone can help prevent the spread of disease by doing the following:

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

We also ask that our housing provider members provide the latest information from public health authorities related to COVID 19 with their tenants as appropriate.

Housing is a critical part of the health and safety of communities and we thank you for your careful attention to this issue.  If you have further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Multifamily NW.

Sincerely,

Deborah Imse
